Finally!

On November 3rd of last year Scott and I were run into by a teenager making an illegal left turn. Our Sequoia (Cougar -- yes, we name our cars) was totaled. We walked away with relatively minor injuries in light of the severity of the accident. My car not so much.

We had both started taking classes that fall at Northern New Mexico University for auto repair to supplement our hybrid knowledge. Two days prior we'd closed on our business building. Flanking us on both sides were collision repair shops. It seemed a no-brainer that I would restore my beloved Sequoia. I bought it back from the insurance company and we made basic assessments. The frame was okay. The engine was still in great shape. The rear axle and drive line were ruined. The gas tank was punctured (I never thought I'd say this, but THANK GOODNESS we stopped rolling on the passenger's side!). The body is totaled. So started our search for the perfect "donor"...

AND...

After nine months we've found a "donor car" to start making repairs on the Sequoia! It should arrive tomorrow morning from Nebraska. It looks like it had an engine fire, so everything under the hood is probably toast. I'll start taking photos to document the transition from trashed body to tres chic body!
